Biography

A small studio is what the name implies. Based in London, we aim to be a meeting point for a variety of projects happening around the world. We encourage collaborations between disciplines and undertake commissions both small and large. Our field of expertise is architecture, urbanism and research.

A small studio was set up by Helena Rivera. Trained in Architecture, Helena has ample experience of working within the UK construction industry. Before setting up on her own, Helena worked at Alsop Architects on the Rotterdam masterplan and later on The PuBLIC, an arts centre in West Bromwich. She is currently teaching Architecture Landscape and Urbanism to Diploma and Master students at Kingston University in the Landscape Interface Studio. Helena is also undertaking a PhD in urbanism: researching the post-war British New Towns Policy and transferring the lessons learned to the current government Growth Areas housing programme.
