| Biography |
Karl
Smith graduated from Middlesex Polytechnic (now
Middlesex University) in 1988 with a degree in Three
Dimensional Design with specializations in lighting
product design and silversmithing. He is currently
studying for an MSc in Computing for Commerce and
Industry.
He has extensive experience in the working of wood,
metal, plastics, ceramics and glass both in manual
and industrial techniques. He is also accomplished
in drawing and painting techniques using pencil,
charcoal, pastel, ink, oil, acrylic and watercolours.
In 1989 he also completed a post graduate certificate
in Craft Design and Technology and has registration
as a qualified teacher with GTC and GTCS.
He is also an affiliate of the Institute of Lighting
Engineers (ILE) and The Chartered Institute of Building
Services Engineers (CIBSE). In 1999 he became a
