With
a BA degree in Fine Arts/Graphic Design and after
a strong professional grounding in children's
book illustration over five years spent working
for a local publishing house I left full-time
employment to work freelance.
I've always loved the artistic and magic side of
life and the world of children's illustration gives
me the endless and greatest possibility to express
my feelings and creativity. I bring my fine arts
background into my work, trying not to merely illustrate
characters and situations, but rather create whimsical
and unique environments for my characters. I strive
to bring a unique perspective to every project
and I'm always looking to develop and diversify
in my style and mediums. I use a variety of mediums,
from traditional colored pencils, watercolor, gouache
and oil to digital media. I also love combining
traditional and digital media in my work.
I have illustrated over 25 children's books but
I am also very familiar with greeting cards,
t-shirts, logos and editorial illustration. My
latest achievement
is to have my work selected for Archive Special
200 Best Illustrators Worldwide 2007.
