Projects Centre Opens (7 November 2002)

AbleStable's ® Projects Centre is launched for individuals, commercial businesses, and non-profit-making organisations to post projects for creative professionals. A project is creative work people want done. Posting a project is the act of advertising the work people want done. Creative professionals who are interested in carrying out the posted projects can then contact their potential clients directly.

People may post 2 projects per year without charge. This amounts to a cash benefit for commercial businesses, private individuals, and non-profit-making organisations. Further projects may be posted for a small charge, either as single or multiple projects. Additional project postings may be purchased from our Payment Gateway.

New Search Engine (23 September 2002)

We have a brand new search engine at AbleStable® which transforms our users' search capabilities. Users can now search different realms of our site at lightning speed. 'Deep Search' and 'Quick Pro Search' have been replaced by a leaner, more effective single search engine that our users can access right from our homepage.

Users can filter their search results immediately by choosing to search one of four different realms:

All of AbleStable®
Creative Professionals
Help and Information
The Library

The search process is very fast and the most relevant content appears at the top of result/s page/s. The level of search result/s document detail is also significantly improved with text extracts, URL addressing, file size, and last modified date. In addition, users may access a detailed search guide from within the search result/s page/s. Our search engine can handle thousands of documents and has been designed with scalability in mind. Watch this space as we continue to improve it's performance and delivery.

Beta site launched (4 July 2002)
The beta launch of AbleStable® took place during summer 2002.

Our beta site establishes a base of registered creative professionals at AbleStable® and enables drill-down searching of creative professionals. Although extensive off-line testing of our site has already been carried out prior to our launch, the beta phase continues this process with particular emphases on usability issues. A further element of this phase is to ensure AbleStable® is easily located on the major search engines and directories.

Welcome to our new look (March 2002)
Visitors to AbleStable® will find some recent improvements. The name of this site now resolves to www.ablestable.info to reflect the informational nature of AbleStable's® introductory site. We've made the link buttons larger and altered their style to make them easier to click, and we've also added text links below the content area to aid accessibility. We hope you like these alterations together with the subtle changes to the colour scheme which makes for easier reading.

AbleStable® hits a milestone (Feb 2002)
Our aim is to build a ground breaking internet directory service that is simple to use and employs a high degree of functionality. We're as excited about AbleStable® as when we first started work on it eight months ago, and we've invested a great deal of resources during the development process. We're now reaping the benefits of our careful planning and have reached a significant milestone.

The database and site architecture, together with the graphic design of AbleStable®, has been a mammoth task as it passes the initial prototype stage. We now move into a new phase of development and exhaustive testing, and look forward to completing a fully functional beta test site (for internal testing and not to be available on-line) by April 2002.

AbleStable® enjoys redirection on key generic domain names (Jan 2002)
Domain names are hugely important to the success and accessibility of any web site. AbleStable® has over sixty domain names that relate to creative activities and establish our credentials in delivering a world class directory of creative professionals.

We have a very strong portfolio in all the top level commercial domain names (.com, .info and .biz) and we also hold many .co.uk generic domain names. Here are just a few examples of how easily people will be able to find us through redirection: creativefreelancers.com; creativepro.info; creativerecruitment.biz; creativeprofessionals.co.uk.
