New Article: Customising
Error Pages: Lauri Harpf shows how the notorious
404 error page can be used to the advantage of web
site owners. Special instructions for creating custom
404 error pages are also provided for site owners
whose site is run under the 'Apache' hosting solution.

Site-wide removal of 'Forward' and 'Backward' links
in top left navigational area to improve page simplicity
and legibility.
General maintenance schedule including: site-wide

and server performance monitoring.

The Projects
Centre has additional copy to explain our policy
on project acceptance.
Member
Benefits has been improved and updated with the
addition of a summary of contents and highlighted
benefits to reflect our recent changes.
New Article:
Sheep,
Art, and Money: By taking an example of an arts
project that was perceived as a waste of public money,
this article exposes the world of governmental arts
funding.
The Press
Centre has new screenshots of our homepage to
reflect our recent changes.
New redirection pages ensure external links
to folders (as opposed to files) at AbleStable®
do not return error messages but provide the user
with link options and a search facility.
Our Homepage
enjoys some subtle improvements with the addition
of four new links under our highlighted content.
Our Services has been updated to reflect the
addition of our Freeware Area and Special Offers and
now includes a full content index.
New Article:

Pay to View: Contributor: John Ohannesian: In
his question and answer essay, John Ohannesian argues
for the Pay to View Art Gallery.
Our new Freeware
Area launches at AbleStable®. The freeware
that is featured is unconditional freeware: no nag

no spying; no collection of demographic information;

Showcase
Galleries Introduced (19 November 02)
Showcase Galleries for creative professionals
are introduced at AbleStable®. Showcase
Galleries feature examples of Member's work and are
available under all paid Member Service Levels. All
Member Profile Pages have undergone changes to accommodate
this new service.
To view an example of a Showcase Gallery go to our
Sample
Profile, scroll down the page, then use the 'Showcase
Gallery' button. A new Showcase Gallery page will
open. More Below
New Discipline Introduced (15 November 02)
A new Discipline 'Logo
and Branding' is introduced under the Creative
Area 'Illustration'. This Discipline is cross referenced
with the identical Discipline 'Logo and Branding'
available from within the Creative Area 'Design'.
Projects Centre Opens (7 November 02)
AbleStable's® Projects
Centre is launched for individuals, commercial
businesses, and non-profit-making organisations to
post projects for creative professionals. A project
is creative work people want done. Posting a project
is the act of advertising the work people want done.
Creative professionals who are interested in carrying
out the posted projects can then contact their potential
clients directly. More Below

Showcase
Galleries introduced (19 November 2002)

Showcase Galleries for creative professionals
are introduced at AbleStable®. Showcase
Galleries feature examples of Member's work and are
available under all paid Member Service Levels. All
Member Profile Pages have undergone changes to accommodate
this new service.
The introduction of Showcase Galleries at AbleStable®
sees a significant increase in the examples of work
creative professionals can present at AbleStable®
. There is no increase in Member Service Level payments
for this service improvement and existing Members
who enjoy paid Member Service Levels have been automatically
upgraded.

Profile, scroll down the page, then use the 'Showcase
Gallery' button. A new Showcase Gallery page will
open.
Projects Centre
Opens (7 November 2002)

AbleStable's ® Projects
Centre is launched for individuals, commercial
businesses, and non-profit-making organisations to
post projects for creative professionals. A project
is creative work people want done. Posting a project
is the act of advertising the work people want done.
Creative professionals who are interested in carrying
out the posted projects can then contact their potential
clients directly.
People may post 2 projects per year without charge.
This amounts to a cash benefit for commercial businesses,
private individuals, and non-profit-making organisations.
Further projects may be posted for a small charge,
either as single or multiple projects. Additional
project postings may be purchased from our Payment
Gateway.
