• A new pricing structure has been introduced for Partners at AbleStable®. A single yearly payment of £500 ensures business products and/or services receive premium exposure, and Partners renewing their yearly subscription enjoy a massive 40% cost reduction. Non-profit-making organisations may apply for free Partner status under the NPM Partner Scheme. For more, visit Partner Introduction.
Special Offers has been updated with the addition of the Computer Arts Issue 80 cover artwork.

January 2003

Computer Arts Magazine (internal link at AbleStable®), The world's best selling creative magazine from Future Publishing, celebrates their partnership with AbleStable® with a special offer for our premium listing for creative professionals. • New informational page: All Articles provides an A to Z listing of Articles available at AbleStable®.
• New text ('no record is kept of this action') is added to every article page above the 'email this web page to a friend or colleague' section. This helps reassure users wishing to use this service, email addresses are not captured or used at AbleStable® without explicit consent.
New Article: Creating Great Web Sites: There are a number of essential elements that make up every quality web site. This extended article sets out the main features that go to produce an unmissable Internet destination.
News Update is revised: request our informative monthly email update delivering news about our site and services.
• Our Press Centre is improved with the addition of an Artwork page that presents AbleStable® logos and screenshots for web and print publications.
• The Projects Centre has undergone significant design improvements in the presentation of work projects.
• The context sensitive left hand menu navigation at About Us and the related pages under this category have been improved with the addition of a link to the Press Centre and 'spacer-lines' to signify separate categories of our site. We are currently implementing these 'spacer-lines' site-wide.
New Freeware: BK ReplaceEm, an excellent text search-and-replace tool for anyone requiring multiple files to be updated or changed.
• Our Payment Gateway has been updated to reflect recent changes in the style of our logo. Note: Our Payment Gateway has now been replaced by our Online Store.
• The AbleStable® logo has undergone colour changes to match our page headers site-wide. We intend the new look to be more pleasing to the eye and less distracting than our heavier old-look logo.
Homepage header redesigned with our new tag line 'serving the creative community'.
• A new generic domain name www.creative-community.com has been added to our domain name portfolio. When anyone enters www.creative-community.com in a web browser connected to the Internet they are automatically redirected to the AbleStable® homepage. Redirection provides additional paths to discovering our services and continues to establish AbleStable® as a leading informational provider for creative people on the Internet.
• Improved copy on our Introductory Guide.
• All articles and reviews now enable users to easily email their friends and colleagues about the web page they are viewing.
Creative News: News Centre: selected arts and media highlights brought to you in association with Guardian Unlimited, the premier Internet news service based in the UK.
• Our Glossary has been completely updated with many new entries, a new structure, and a link directly from our homepage 'great content at AbleStable®' box.
My Profile (142kb), the page where creative professionals at AbleStable® update their profile, has been updated. A service comparison table now reminds Members of their service status.
Our Services: improved copy.
New Article: Investigating Creativity: Dana Brandley interviews Mike de Sousa, the Director of AbleStable®, and unravels his motivations and thoughts about creativity and the creative process.
• New image link on our home page to the Graduate Service Introductory Page. This replaces the Partner Quick Tour image link (now accessible from Registered Users, Quick Tours, or our Partner Centre).
• General maintenance schedule including: site-wide link check; external link check; search indexing; and server performance monitoring.
New Article: The Perfect Web Site Host: Choosing the right host for your web site is crucial in assuring its' success. We provide essential independent guidance that helps you make the right choice.
General Feedback updated.
• Member and Graduate image and text file upload instructions amended to reflect recent changes below. To view these changes go to Member: My Profile or Graduate: My Profile (instructions vary depending on type of service).
New Service: Graduate Service is launched at AbleStable®.
• Our Payment Gateway has undergone significant changes and now provides access to purchase our Graduate Service. Note: Our Payment Gateway has now been replaced by our Online Store.
New Member Levels: The introduction of three Member levels: Free, Portfolio, and Showcase, supersedes our previous and more cumbersome five level service. Existing Members opting for paid services at AbleStable® will continue to enjoy all their current service level agreements. Go to our Member Introduction to find out more.
New FAQs: Graduate FAQ section.
• All FAQ pages enjoy improved navigation.
• Our Terms and Conditions and Privacy Statement have been updated to take account of our new Graduate Service.
• All our downloadable Welcome Packs that accompany our directory services have been updated.
• Our free web site template that accompanies user Welcome Packs undergoes further testing and minor improvements.
Registration has been improved and updated to take account of our new Graduate Service.
• A new Discipline 'Fashion Design' has been added to the Creative Area Design.
• Our Member Service Comparison page has been completely redesigned to reflect the major changes to our Member levels.
Site Map and Directory Index updated to reflect recent changes to our site.
• A new generic domain name www.creative-graduates.com has been added to our domain name portfolio.
AbleStable's® copyright statement now reads 'All Material: AbleStable 2002-2008' site-wide.
• Improved error documents ensure in the case of server errors, our users find the page they're after faster.
• Page headers are made consistent across the registered user areas.
• Improved copy at the Press Centre.
• Updates (this page) and the Update Archive at AbleStable® are current for the start of January 2003.

Graduates and undergraduates opting for our Graduates service enjoy a comprehensive profile page including: contact information; information relating to degree training; biographical entry, detailed skills entry; awards entry; business practice entry; past client list. In addition Graduates and undergraduates have the ability to present their own work (images and text extracts that elaborate on creative products or services).

The exhaustive registration process graduates and undergraduates complete enable prospective clients to find the right creative person for their needs. The Graduate pages also act as an important Internet portfolio for the many people who visit our site from the creative industries to view graduate and undergraduate profiles and examples of their work.
