• WorldPay, our payment processors, performed a major upgrade to their technical systems on 30 October. The update ensured considerable gains in terms of the performance, scalability and resilience of WorldPay's services.
• New Column: Fool's Art: As art and commerce becomes inextricably linked in our daily lives, so art looses its status and importance. Art becomes no more than decoration. Art becomes the fool's gold of our times.

• New Partner: Portfolios.com is formally associated with AbleStable. Portfolios.com was established in 1995 and has established itself as the leading Internet index of designers, illustrators and other creatives. Our association develops a strategy of mutual exposure that stimulates new interest in our companies' services. With complimentary delivery, pricing, and user demographics, we now provide greater choice and flexibility for creative professionals including special introductory rates and offers.

• Our Project Posting Guide (pdf document 112kb - opens new window) has been improved and updated.
• Creative News: News Centre: selected arts and media highlights brought to you in association with Guardian Unlimited, the premier Internet news service.
• Updated PC Freeware: We've updated the excellent freeware screen capture utility MWSnap to version 3 at AbleStable. This version provides even more great features including a new colour picker tool, ruler, undo, auto printing and more...
• New Extended Article: Migrating Servers: Enabling CGI: Read our comprehensive two part guide to ensure you've covered all the aspects of migrating CGI scripts from one host to another.
• As a result of Member feedback the new Discipline Industrial Photography has been added under the Creative Area Photography. AbleStable has been updated site-wide to reflect this change, including a new entry in our Directory Index, Sitemap, and Directory Info points.
• New E-book: Creative Glossary: Our online Creative Glossary clarifies words and terms used at AbleStable and by creative people in general. We've now published a pdf version of our glossary for our users to have on-hand at any time.
• Feature the very best writing on your website from AbleStable and provide information and inspiration for creative people with our new Content Feed. A yearly license for our Feed can be bought from our Store for an unbelievably low price.
• New Mac Freeware: Address Pad: a great little freeware Mac organiser.
• Showcase Members now enjoy a huge 50% discount on Content Syndication and a generous 20% discount on website critiques. If you're not a Showcase Member already Discover the Benefits.
• The turnaround for Website Critiques is now faster. SnapShot, Standard, and Premium Critiques are now completed within 5 days. Our Express Critique continues to be delivered within a 48 hour deadline.
• The layout of our Information Area in our online Store has been improved.
• The Member Comparisons table which shows the differences between Portfolio and Showcase listings has been improved and updated.
• Our Graduate Introduction has been updated to reflect recent changes to this service.
• The descriptions of our Member Services have been improved and updated in our Store.
• New Mac Freeware: Zoom Lens: a simple but effective screen magnifier for the Mac.
• Our Press Area enjoys major stylistic improvements.
• New screenshots of our homepage in a variety of formats for web and print publications are available from Publicity and Press Artwork.
• New Article: Alone With The Man in Black: Louisa Young interviews Johnny Cash - he so moved her that she gave up her job and became a novelist.
• Our Website Critique Service has been improved with the introduction of a new basic SnapShot Critique that provides a great overall picture of a websites performance. We now provide a full range of website critiques suitable for all website owners and designers: SnapShot Critique; Standard Critique; Express Critique; and Premium Critique.
• Our Terms and Conditions and FAQs have been updated to reflect the recent changes concerning our Website Critique service.
• Our one-stop Guide has been updated and improved.
• A minor addition to our Terms and Conditions can be found in the section Content Syndication: 'AbleStable may judge certain websites as unsuitable to republish its content and reserves the right to refuse an application for syndication'.
