New Column: Ethics and Creativity: There are times when creative professionals may be asked to work in an area that is in conflict with their conscience, when the work we do may in some way directly or indirectly support activities or businesses we would otherwise choose not to be associated with. This column is devoted to a scenario that touches on some of the issues surrounding this ethical dimension of offering creative services, and the actions that might be contemplated.

October 2005

Product Area: The Product Area at AbleStable has been updated. Links to the associated websites of featured products now point directly to the appropriate homepage. There are now no affiliate links. Some reviews have been updated, and the area has been simplified to aid navigation.
New Article: Introducing Vista® icons: Microsoft Vista®, the next version of Windows® to arrive in 2006, will include many new features and enhancements. The most visible evolution will be the new Graphical User Interface (GUI). This article provides information on: Windows Vista® - A Resolution-Independent User Interface; Vista® 256x256 PNG Compressed Icons; Compatibility with Windows® XP; Creating a Vista® Compressed Icon; and Using Vista Compressed Icons in Software Projects.
New Freeware: ScrollBar is a simple yet useful program for web designers that can significantly reduce the time in creating coloured scrollbars that are visible in Internet Explorer.
